Before joining CHP Law LLC as a Director, Yi Mei was the Managing Partner of a mid-sized Singapore law firm, where she managed a ten-lawyer disputes team and played a key role in the firm’s overall operations. This experience reinforced her belief that effective advocacy is rooted in integrity, perspective and a calm, grounded presence.

Outside of practice, Yi Mei is a mother of three and a lifelong learner who enjoys taking on new challenges. Whether pursuing her advanced diver’s licence or earning her Class 2B motorcycle licence, she approaches each venture as an opportunity to grow, reminding herself and those around her that confidence is often built just beyond one’s comfort zone.

Matter Highlights

  • Acted for the Defendant in Public Prosecutor v Praveen s/o Krishnan[2017] SGDC 190 (on appeal: [2017] SGHC 324), a case involving a young offender. Successfully advanced arguments for probation, focusing on rehabilitation prospects, mitigating factors, and the offender’s potential for reform.
  • Acted in Ngor Shing Rong Jake v Wong Mei Lee Millie [2025] SGHC119, a High Court which found that resulting trust arose in a 99:1 property arrangement as an incidental consequence of a contemplated illegal purpose.
  • Acted for an Indonesian salt manufacturing company seeking an injunctive relief in an emergency arbitration against a German company.
  • Acted for 2 defendants in a suit filed by homeowners of a residential property claiming against 6 other defendants for damage to their property, which included claims for breach of statutory duty of a qualified person under the Building Control Act.
