Margaux is an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore and is currently pursuing her bar qualification in England & Wales. She heads the Banking & Financial Services practice at CHP.
Margaux brings with her close to a decade of experience in banking and finance in top-tier international law firms and most recently, in a global agribusiness conglomerate. She is familiar with the ins and outs of structured finance having advised on financings in excess of US$20bn in deal value, with particular expertise in bilateral and syndicated financing, asset finance, trade finance and derivatives (IRS/hedging). In recent years, she has built a strong reputation on advising on award-winning, first-of-its-kind sustainability-linked financings and was the youngest lawyer to be recommended in legal directories for her noteworthy experience in this regard.
She has advised clients in all parts of the globe and is familiar with the intricacies and nuances that each jurisdiction may have, and how this impacts her clients’ interests and transaction risks. Margaux is especially well-regarded as a practitioner who is able to manage novel structures and one who understands the commercial realities and considerations of her clients’ businesses owing to her past lives as a banker at J.P.Morgan Chase and senior in-house legal counsel and uses her experience to ensure smooth and efficient transaction closings for both her client and the relevant counterparties.
A strong proponent of “eat hard, work out hard”, you can find Margaux training for her next Hyrox race in the region or on a racquet sports court when she is not busy indulging in her favourite cake or inhaling an entire box of durian on her own. She also has keen interests in philanthropy and mentorship and regularly sets aside time to pursue initiatives in these areas.
